David ABBASI
Siyavash Awesta
was granted the
French Award for
“Art, Science and
Literature”
During a special
occasion on the 16th
of September held in
the French Senate,
Siyavash Awesta (Dr
David Abbasi) -
Iranian writer and
historian, resident of
Paris- was granted the
award under the category
“Art, Knowledge and
Literature”. The Art,
Knowledge and Literature
Foundation, which is
active under the control
of the French Academy,
has been in existence
since the year 1915.
In this occasion,
attended by many Iranian
and French figures,
prior to presenting
Siyavash Awesta with his
award Jean-Philippe
Biron- Director of
drafting “Room and
Senate”- gave a speech:
“We have all gathered
in the senate today to grant
Mr. David Abbasi with the
reward for Art, Science and
Literature During the 22
years that Mr. Hassan Abbasi
has lived in France, he has
served a lot of his people
and France. He was a modern,
forward-thinking intellect
in his country. “Ershad”
Publication, edited by him,
was the first newspaper in
the year 1980 for publishing
information and advertising
the separation of religion
from politics in Iran. It
was banned and so he was
left no choice but to leave
his country. Ever since he
left Iran he has been in the
worldly struggle to continue
his intellectual and laic
work.
He produces a lot of his
writings and cultural
work in
France. He introduced
Political Islam writings for
the first time and fax and
internet service, and he
established advertising
through the internet before
the French Postal Office did.
He has
written more than 70
books, 100s of article,
has had 1000s of radio
hours and more than 100
television broadcasts in
which he has prepared
and performed in order
to inform his audience.
He has
obtained many other
awards, including the
French Award for
humanity, the gold medal for
Competence and the French
have and always will
appreciate his presence. In
addition to all these awards,
today he is being honored
for “Art, Knowledge and
Literature” in the Senate
House”.
